Happy Lab Week from Caresfield! As a fun activity leading up to the event, we host an annual bracket battle. The contest pits eight of our products against each other in a March Madness-inspired contest. Best of all, everybody wins! This year, we had 45 entries trying to pick a perfect bracket. No one managed to guess every matchup correctly, so everyone was entered into a drawing for the grand prize. On lucky winner landed a $250 Amazon gift card.
Tournament Recap
We started with eight teams vying for the championship. The first round saw the dual texture Versaquet™ display its versatility in a resounding win over cohesive bandages. On the same side of the bracket, the printers proved too much for the nitrile nationals to cover en route to the final four. The Versaquets and printers played a hard-fought match. Their showdown went down to the final possession before the extremely flexible tourniquet secured it’s place in the final.
On the other side of the bracket, pediatric tourniquets played bigger than their small size in a resounding win over Xylene-resistant labels. On the same side of the bracket, the cryo crew kept their cool in a tight contest with bariatric tourniquets. Unfortunately they couldn’t stick around as they fell to the pediatric tourniquets.
In a final matchup of tourniquet supremacy, the specialty size of pediatric tourniquets overcame a terrific effort from the extremely adaptable Versaquet. We are thrilled to announce pediatric tourniquets are the 2022 Bracket Battle Champions!
Everyone Is a Winner
As much fun as it is to anthropomorphize medical supplies and simulate a sports tournament, the real winners are all the lab employees who took part in the bracket battle. While no one accurately predicted the entire bracket – scouting reports on medical supplies are notably dodgy – one random participant received a $250 Amazon gift card and two more participants received $25 gift cards. Caresfield promised all participants a $5 lab donation. As a special thank you for playing, Caresfield has doubled those donations to $10 apiece!
