Administering the wrong medication in surgery can have dire consequences. To help you meet Joint Commission Standards to improve the safety of using medications1, Caresfield offers sterile labels and other medical supplies for surgery.
Sterile Labels

Safety is the top priority for every patient in your care. You and your team must be constantly vigilant. The perioperative area is one of the most medication-intensive locations in a hospital2. From the moment your scrub personnel remove medication from the manufacturer’s container3 it’s crucial to communicate effectively to minimize the risk for medication errors.
Caresfield can help! We offer custom solutions based on your needs. If you need sterile labels and are willing to trust your team to write clearly, you can place an order for one of our existing options. This can be the right fit if your facility performs a wide range of procedures. If your services are more specialized, a custom option may be better.
Jennings’ study indicates that providing preprinted labels in the operating room improved compliance with medication labeling, which leads to increased patient safety. With a custom design, you can preprint drug names on your labels and help limit the potential for human error.
Typically, sterile surgery labels come in sheets of 20, sterilized and sealed in a pouch. Custom options can range from a cost-effective 20 labels with a perforation in the middle to a full 40 labels per sheet. We manufacture our labels in the U.S. and the lead time for sterile labels is four to six weeks.
Surgical Gloves
In addition to protecting your patients, it’s also important to supply PPE for clinicians in the surgery suite. Caresfield carries a variety of surgical gloves. Because gloves are such a personal item for surgeons, we offer a bevy of materials and sizes. Whether your clinicians prefer nitrile, polyisoprene or latex, we are happy to provide a free sample for clinicians to test. You can also check out our best-selling gloves.
