The world is a big place. For September’s Caresfield Cares program, we spread the love to help our local communities, feed needy children around the world and fund research to eradicate prostate cancer.
Caresfield Coaches
Caresfield has a pair of coaches on the team. In honor of National Little League Month, we’d like to recognize Director of Sales Operations Ray Bernard and Business Development Manager Brad Smith for volunteering time with youth.

Ray played Little League when he was young and leapt at the opportunity to coach his grandson. While this was Ray’s rookie year at the helm, Brad coached baseball for three years and youth basketball for five. His interest began with coaching his daughter and has expanded to help at-risk children find opportunities in baseball. He has sponsored opportunities for two children and recruited several local businesses to donate sponsorship money.
We are so pleased with Ray and Brad’s work in the community!
Feed My Starving Children
As we mentioned during Make a Difference to Children Month, Caresfield has an affinity for the non-profit Feed My Starving Children. Earlier this month our team packed meals for kids around the world. We were pleased to have 44 employees participate in the event.

“I love volunteering with Feed My Starving Children because in a short amount of time, you can make a significant impact in children’s lives,” said Stephanie Pedro, Caresfield people operations manager. “It’s always a very fun and interactive experience. Volunteering with friends, family or coworkers is always a good bonding experience.”
Between our team and the other volunteers on site, we packed 65 boxes of food, providing over 14,000 meals, enough to feed 38 kids for a year.
Supporting Prostate Cancer Research
September is also Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. To support prostate cancer research, Caresfield was a local partner for the Chicago-SEA Blue Run/Walk. The event was part of ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk, the largest men’s health event series in America. The event raised nearly $200,000 to support patients and families in need.
Each month, the Caresfield Cares program focuses on helping those in need. It’s one of the ways we demonstrate our commitment to our core values. See the 2022 schedule.
