At Caresfield, our commitment to charity is baked into our core value of Caring. It’s why we started our Caresfield Cares program. Our team accomplished a lot through the program in 2021 and we are hard at work planning monthly charitable events for next year.
Whether it was financial or in-kind donations to labs and non-profits or packing boxes to feed children, we are very proud of the impact we had this year!
Highlights From 2021
Donations for Medical Laboratory Professionals Week – We captured the fun and excitement of March Madness with a bracket challenge that paid off with gift card donations for labs. Will the Cinderella-story Lab Coats defend their title next year?
Volunteering for Feed My Starving Children – Our team spent an evening packing boxes of meals for Feed My Starving Children. Together, we provided 12,744 meals. That’s enough to feed 35 kids for a year!
Donations for Breast Cancer Awareness Month – We matched 10 percent of orders for seven pink products as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and donated $10 per registrant for our Carestalk webinar: Skin Markers, A Critical Tool in Breast Cancer Imaging.
Non-Profit Gloves Donation – We donated pallets of gloves to Mano a Mano, an organization that delivers medical supplies to communities in need in Bolivia.
For Stephanie Pedro, people operations manager, the commitment to charity is one of the reasons she enjoys working for Caresfield.
“For me, finding Caresfield was an incredible blessing because there are so few companies that get office culture right these days, ” Pedro said. “Each employee gets a full day of paid volunteer time off each year. Recognizing employees as complex individuals means also acknowledging the unique contributions each person can make, not only in the company but in the community. Having that time we can dedicate to giving back, with the support of our employer, is very exciting and lines up perfectly with our core value of caring.”
As we gear up for the season of giving and a year-end toy drive, we are very thankful for all our customers and partners who have contributed to our efforts!
