Caresfield: Providing Quality Direct Thermal Wristbands

In the current era of supply chain disruption, many manufactures struggle to find the raw materials needed for products. For direct thermal wristbands, this can lead to a drop in quality. By using inferior materials, the wristbands are no longer able to maintain the features some manufacturers promise.

As you can see, tough conditions can ruin wristbands. It’s important to work with a trusted vendor like Caresfield. We’ll make sure your patient identification products are always clear and scannable. This helps you prevent patient identification errors and potentially catastrophic mistakes.

Why Is the Sensaband So Durable?

The Sensaband is a Tyvek® wristband. While it looks and feels like a paper wristband, it is actually composed of synthetic material made from high-density spunbound polyethylene fibers. This makes the bands lightweight, durable and resistant to rips and tears. In addition to the durable base material, the Sensaband has a special heat and water-resistant coating. It’s an extremely comfortable and durable option. Learn more about Tyvek®.

Quality Direct Thermal Wristbands – Part of the Patient ID Puzzle

Memorial Health, a 97-bed acute and primary care facility with over 30 additional service lines, has used the Sensaband for two years. According to Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Diagnostic Services Andy Chileski, the facility switched to the Sensaband when they converted to Epic Community Connect. He said the program integrates well with the Sensaband and direct thermal printers. Every patient gets an ID band and he hasn’t heard a single complaint from his admissions or clinical staff.

“We use various tools and processes to ensure correct patient identification,” Chileski said. “We need to make sure each patient gets the correct medication and test. The ID band plays a important role in properly identifying patients. Each patient gets a band when they register and we have them check to make sure the information is correct.”

At Caresfield, we strive to provide quality products to help you avoid patient ID errors. Our suppliers manufacture direct thermal wristbands in the United States with strict quality control measures. No matter what conditions patients encounter, our wristbands will still read and scan clearly. And since they are manufactured locally, orders have short lead times.
