In a year marked by surging inflation and economic struggles, are we in a better place than we were at the end of 2021? What steps did you take to make your community a better place? At Caresfield, we faced challenges like many of our peers in healthcare. Through the adversity, we tried to make life better in the communities we serve through charitable donations and volunteering through our Caresfield Cares program. Here is our 2022 recap:

Financial Donations
While money doesn’t solve every problem, we identified several opportunities to make financial contributions to important organizations in our community. Here are some of the causes we supported this year, with links to more in-depth looks at each donation:
- $10,000 to Cancer Research Institute
- $5,000 donation to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)
- $3,000 donation to Lakeville Fire Department
- Over $1,000 raised for spin4 crohn’s and colitis cures
- Disposable tourniquet donation to Alight
- Donation to Chicago-SEA Blue Run/Walk
- Sponsored a veteran for the Honor Flight Network
Volunteer Opportunities
Sometimes the biggest impact you can make is to get involved with a cause that matters. Caresfield encourages employees to be active citizens with paid volunteer time off. This year, we showed appreciation for hardworking healthcare peers and made meals for domestic and international use. Our volunteer efforts included:
- Blood Drive: 19 appointments and 13 units of whole blood donated
- Thank You Notes: 150 Notes
- Over 200 sandwiches for the homeless in Minneapolis
- Over 14,000 meals packed at Feed My Starving Children
What is Caresfield Cares?
There are many reasons companies foster charitable programs. For Caresfield, we are driven by five core values, including a commitment to caring. Caresfield Cares is a monthly initiative to make a positive impact in the communities we serve.
Volunteering opportunities are important to Tom Sedlacek, Caresfield content marketing manager. He was a frequent contributor to the program in 2022, writing thank you notes for healthcare professionals affected by the pandemic, donating blood, making sandwiches and packing food.
“Volunteering is important to me,” Sedlacek said. “Ever since I was a youth in 4-H, I’ve seen the impact I can make by getting involved. As a company, Caresfield is very thoughtful and intentional about where to focus our efforts. We received feedback from customers on causes that were important to them, and we wrapped those suggestions into our efforts this year. Looking back on 2022, I am so proud of everything our team accomplished.”
2023 Caresfield Cares Schedule
Now that we’ve completed the 2022 recap, it’s time to look forward. Next year, the Cares program begins with another blood drive in January. Keep an eye on our blog for more details, including time and location. The full 2023 schedule will release later in the month. Let us know if there is a charity or a cause you’d like us to support.
